Lydia Meredith is an author, activist (founded Beacon of Hope and its Renaissance Learning Center, a nonprofit organization, that served Metro-Atlanta for 21 years strengthening families and communities and lifting poor children and their families out of poverty), and advocate (human rights voice for LGBTQIA children and youth). She married and had three sons with Reverend Dennis A. Meredith, who is now an openly gay pastor and leading a congregation of over one-thousand members—predominantly lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender.
