HARITH AUGUSTUS

Harith Augustus was 37-years-old when he was shot and killed by police on July 14, 2018 in Chicago. Body camera footage shows Harith speaking with officers who are grabbing at his wrists. When Harith pulled away, at least one officer open fired. The footage does not fully show the moments before and after the shooting. The footage does show that Harith was armed, but news outlets are saying he was licensed to own a firearm. Protesters are calling for more transparency in the department’s investigation.
